美国芝加哥的“Life Gem”纪念品公司宣布他们已经发明了一种技术，把尸体焚化后的骨灰变成钻石，作为珠宝让亲属戴在身上，既是一种美丽的装饰，又是家人对死者最好的纪念。由于所有动物体的主要成分是碳，而钻石的主要成分也是碳。而当人死后，墓碑和骨灰盒当然不方便带在身上，亲属无法与死去的亲人天天呆在一起，如今这家公司把死者的骨灰变成蓝钻石，做成首饰让亲人戴在身上，就能很好地解决了这一问题。
作为一名企业家，希罗总是在想新点子赚钱，他花了整整3年时间研究把骨灰变成钻石的技术，一次次地进行试验，终于在09年7月用人的骨灰制成了一枚钻石。这种钻石质量很好，价钱也合理，既让商家有钱赚，又让客户能够接受。目前“Life Gem”纪念品公司已经能从很少量的骨灰中提取出碳元素，制成0.25克拉的钻石，价值4000美元，而把要把骨灰制成1克拉的钻石价值可达22000美元。
